Hello,
and welcome to
Chuck Jennett's
online information center!
This is my tenth
year providing my customers with top quality chainsaw sculptures.
I first was introduced to chainsaw sculptures when I saw carvers
in the Mohawk Valley and became interested in trying the art myself.
My mother is an artist and my father is very mechanical, so carving
with a chainsaw just seemed like a natural opportunity. Even though
my first carvings were a little rough, people enjoyed them. Over
the years my style has become more and more refined.
I prefer to carve
wildlife figures, bears being the animal most requested. I have done
moose, horses, eagles, and pelicans as well. I do not generally carve
figures of people, but I did do a stylized bust of a Native American,
an honor for me because of my own Native American heritage. I also
carved a leprechaun and a donut for two business customers. Photos
of several carvings are on our Photos page
in the chainsaw button bar.
Partially responsible
for the refinement and detail that is characteristic of my sculptures
is the fine woods we use from all over the world. Logs are specifically
chosen for their texture and color to match the subject of the sculpture,
the taste of the customer, and the durability required for any particular
application. These specialty woods give each piece a very unique
appearance. Please refer to our Wood
Types page for more detailed information about our sculpting
wood.
Each sculpture is
treated either with paint, stain, or spar varnish to be durable indoors
and out. Our Finishes/Care page
explains in greater detail and tells you how to care for your one-of-a-kind
sculpture to have it beautify your home for many years.
